Visit to Venice,Italy

My visit to Venice,Italy was wonderful
I loved exploring the waterways ,architecture and history of this beautiful city
Venice built on an archipelago of 118 islands formed by 177 canals and connected by 409 bridges!
I wasn't prepared for the stairs and took too much luggage and a tourist bumped into me and I landed up twisting my finger !
I went in June and it was hot ,humid and full of tourists .
Based on my experience I would definitely advise that you take less luggage especially if you are traveling solo, try not to book in the busy months like June and make sure you have access to GPS as its easy to get lost in the tiny streets. You can actually find bargains if you look ,so dont shop near the more 'touristy sites' like San Marco's Square.I bought a lovely shirt for only 8 euro ,and I saw some really reasonable leather bags but you have to look .
The water taxis are not cheap at 7 euro per trip, but you can buy a travel card which starts at 20 euro for 1 day.The gondola rides were very pricey at 80 euro so I just sat in one and took a picture (and got proposed to in the process )
I will definitely go back as I want to see more of the this historic city
